Announcing name change for 2010! The Formerly
known "Jewfish Creek Bridge Run" will now be called the "Key Largo Bridge Run". We are currently
working on the "Key Largo Bridge Run" web site and will soon announce, here, the date our web site and when
registration will open. Those of you who are on our email list will receive an email.
To those of you who
did not receive a t-shirt, they are on their way. The first bunch went out this week. Those of you waiting on medals,
they should be in next week. As soon as they arrive I will send them out. I appreciate everyones patience with
us.
To all locals from Key Largo to Islamorada your shirts are in. You can pick up your shirt any time Monday-Friday
from 9am-3pm at the Key Largo Baptist Church. The medals will be available at the church as well when they arrive next week.

WELCOME TO KEY LARGO!
Welcome to Key Largo, the first of the First of the Florida Keys!
We hope that your trip was safe and you are ready for a great weekend. If this is your first time here, or you just
haven't been in a while, make sure to stop at the welcome center for information on where to stay, eat, shop and recreate
while you are here.
Key Largo Chamber of Commerce Florida Keys
Visitor Center is located at mile marker 106 just as you enter Key Largo on U.S. 1 heading south. Travel over the Jewfish
Creek Bridge, make the curve and watch for the two-story yellow building just south of Shell World. They're directly to the
right of the highway alert sign in the median as you drive toward Key West.
The Visitor Center offers information about the entire Florida Keys. Brochures and maps are available for
accommodations, attractions, diving and snorkeling, fishing, dining, weddings, nature and ecology tours, shopping, water sports and, of course, there are clean restrooms.
Check out
their newest addition -- a fascinating and informative display that includes a 1700s-era British cannon, one of 13 cannon
found in a reef patch offshore of Key Largo.
Daily accommodation availability
and rates are available and there are phones to make reservations or get information about the center's participants. Information
about special events is available as well as phone books and newcomer information. The Visitor Center is open 7 days a week
from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed on major holidays).
Call 1-800-822-1088.
Their knowledgeable staff has 200 years of Keys' experience in the Visitor Center so let them help you with your Florida Keys
plans -- whatever they may be!

It's late for me and I am up with nervous energy
. We have all been working hard the last couple of days and are ready for the weekend to begin. Today I drove the
course with the Capt., Sgt. and the Lt. of our local police department and everything went well.
I am glad I cleaned my car the day before.
Hope you all are excited and ready to go. Looks like
we are going to have a beautiful day Saturday. I look forward to seeing you all at the Health Expo and to
answering any questions you might have. Don't forget we are giving away a visor and a koosie cup, while supplies last, with
the purchase of a Pasta Party ticket. Also, there will be a great Silent Auction going on with lots of great
stuff for both our locals and our visitors.
See you tomorrow

the bridge. The south bound lane will remain open allowing them access back to the staging area at anytime.
10:23 am est
ATTENTION!!!!!!! Time change for transportation service. Transportation from the parking
lots will now begin at 4:00am. All participants must be at the staging area by 5:45am. Get all your questions about
parking and transportation answered at the expo. See you there.

Helpful Hint for beginners
Hint#1: Have you wondered
yet what you are going to do with your keys the morning of the race, or what about a dry t-shirt to change into for after
the race, or any other items you might like to have with you after your run? The bag you receive at the expo is to be
used for just that purpose.
You will need to tear off the strip at the bottom of your bib, which has
your bib # on it, and attach it to the bag with the wire tire provided. Put what you might need in that bag
and bring it with you the morning of the race with your tag attached to "Bag Check In"
located in the front of the church. The bags will be kept inside of the Church for security. We will have attendants
at the "Bag Check In" until the last bag is checked out. Now you don't have to worry.
Be sure to attend the Health Expo November 13th open from 12pm - 9pm to pick up your race day packet and
t-shirt.

Run the ALL-AMERICAN
Bridge!
The Florida Keys Overseas Highway, the site of our course, is now an All-American Road!
The designation was announced Friday by U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray La Hood and a plaque was presented by Victor
Mendez, administrator of the Federal Highway Administration, during a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on Friday October 16.
The Keys highway is the only All-American Road in Florida.
This is the highest recognition possible under the National Scenic Byways program established by the U.S. Congress in 1991 and only 30 other roadways in the nation have earned this prestigious
title.
For more about the National Byways program, click the link above or watch a video of the new sign being installed on the course at www.Fla-Keys.com. You will pass this sign on both the 5k and half marathon so have your cameras ready!

What does that mean exactly? That means that any record set ont this
course will be accepted as a national record. It also allows you to know with confidence that the distance and your time
is accurate and comparable to any other certified course. This certification could also help attract professional athletes
